Job summary

AST Bearings LLC is seeking a Buyer Planner in New Bedford, MA to manage inventory, forecasts, and supplier relations. You will work with MRP/SCM software, prepare RFQs, and negotiate terms for domestic and international shipments.

The role requires Excel proficiency and strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. A foundational understanding of import/export processes is beneficial, with salary in the 55k–70k range.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma, or equivalent. Three years or more experience and/or a related tertiary degree is a plus.
• Intermediate Excel skills needed.

Responsibilities

• Analyze inventory, usage, forecasts and production data to determine scheduling.
• Submit and follow up on RFQs to suppliers.
• Negotiate with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery, and other requirements.
• Coordinate documents required for foreign shipments, both import and export.
• Enter and monitor purchase orders and expedite with suppliers.
• Maintain department files and assist in SKU rationalization and demand planning.
