Job summary

Vital Materials Co., Limited is seeking an MRO Buyer/Planner to source domestic and international raw materials, custom parts, tooling, and services essential for daily operations.

You will negotiate price, terms, and delivery while maintaining inventory levels and accurate ERP/QuickBooks receipts. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of procurement experience in high-volume manufacturing.
• Knowledge of MRP concepts and ERP systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate cost, cost avoidance, and benchmarking while balancing quality, supplier reliability, and delivery performance.
• Monitor inventory systems for low-stock spare parts and initiate purchase requests.
• Add new parts to ERP systems with descriptions, pricing, lead times, and supplier info.
• Maintain knowledge of shipping and receiving processes and ensure accurate receipt posting in ERP/QuickBooks.
• Notify requestors when items are received and available for use.
• Set up new vendors in QuickBooks, collect documentation, and issue purchase orders per policy.
• Support MRO purchasing and negotiate terms with raw material suppliers.
• Understand urgency levels and place orders to avoid downtime.
• Ensure production is not impacted by purchasing delays; perform daily material counts and report to Accounting.
• Demonstrate ownership and drive continuous improvement.
