Job summary

Old Mission is a global proprietary trading firm recruiting a Fundamental Research Analyst to support our International Trading desk from 5:00 pm CT to 4:00 am CT in Chicago. You will research and monitor global news to uncover new investment opportunities and produce reports that influence trading strategies.

You’ll work closely with desk leads, share insights with traders in real time, and contribute to pattern analysis and idea generation to drive profitable decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field.
• 1+ years of relevant work experience in a Research Analyst role.
• Passion for financial markets and problem solving.
• Exceptional communication, written and verbal.
• Strong quantitative, analytical and research skills.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg and/or Reuters.
• Python programming skills bonus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and analyze news/events affecting trading groups and report pertinent information.
• Support traders as the sole research contact for global macro events.
• Collaborate with small trading groups to analyze data and develop ideas/tools.
