Job summary

Cleary Gottlieb is seeking a Business Development Manager to support the Americas Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity practices. You will work with attorneys and the BDMC team to craft pitches, manage submissions, and lead client targeting across the Americas.

The role requires 7+ years in professional services business development with M&A/PE experience, strong research skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in business development in a professional services firm, with M&A/PE marketing experience.
• Strong understanding of M&A and PE terminology, deal types, and marketing to corporate and private equity clients.
• Experience writing pitches and proposals with clear, concise language.
• Proven ability to research, analyze, and summarize information effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop pitches, RFPs, and deal lists from start to finish for opportunities.
• Lead directory and award submissions; strengthen credentials for strategic goals.
• Coordinate league table submissions with global BDMC teams.
• Support Firm's Public Company and Private Equity Transactions Groups’ BD efforts.
• Collaborate with senior BD team and practice leadership on cross-selling and client targeting.
• Prepare agendas, capture key takeaways, and follow up on actions from meetings.
