Job summary

Amptek, an AMETEK company, is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to lead the shipping and receiving team and optimize domestic and international inbound/outbound logistics. You will drive cost reduction, ensure compliance with trade regulations, and coordinate with operations, customer service, procurement, finance, and logistics partners.

The role requires 5+ years in logistics with leadership experience and a strong background in ERP systems and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of logistics, shipping/receiving, warehouse, or supply chain experience.
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience managing domestic and international freight operations.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and develop a shipping and receiving team.
• Establish daily priorities and ensure timely shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions.
• Monitor workforce productivity, accuracy, and safety adherence.
• Conduct coaching, employee development, and performance management.
• Foster accountability, customer service, continuous improvement, and safety.
• Manage inbound and outbound shipments domestically and internationally.
• Coordinate transportation activities with freight carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
• Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and export controls.
• Oversee preparation of export documentation.
• Resolve shipment delays and freight issues.
• Monitor carrier performance and on-time delivery.
• Develop freight and logistics cost-reduction initiatives.
• Lead freight bid processes and negotiate transportation agreements.
• Oversee receipt, inspection, storage, and shipment; ERP transactions.
• Maintain shipping documentation and records.
• Identify and implement process improvements and SOPs.
• Support ERP enhancements and logistics automation.
