Job summary

REC Silicon in Butte, MT seeks a Senior Logistics Specialist to lead day-to-day logistics activities, coordinating inbound/outbound transportation, import/export, and compliance. You will manage carriers, track costs, and ensure timely, cost-effective movement of goods while guiding junior staff.

The role requires experience with hazardous materials, DOT/IMDG rules, and ERP systems (SAP/PRISM). A related Associate’s degree and at least five years in logistics are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the resolution of logistics issues and transportation disruptions, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage relationships and service performance with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouses, and drivers.
• Monitor freight rates, fuel costs, and transport market trends to support budgeting and decisions.
• Coordinate logistics contracts, rate reviews, renewals, and service requirements with internal teams.
• Ensure DOT, IMDG, import/export and other regulatory compliance and maintain licenses and registrations.
• Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, cost efficiency, and controls.
• Supervise and train logistics staff and provide coverage as needed.
• Manage domestic and international shipments from origin to destination, including bookings and documentation.
• Coordinate inbound/outbound shipments with Customer Service, Operations, and customers to ensure timely movement.
• Execute product shipments in company systems with accurate invoicing data.
• Administer freight damage claims including investigation and resolution.
• Maintain weekly gas shipping schedule and chassis inventory for accurate reporting.
