Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Logistics Coordinator in Elgin, IL to support international shipping, export compliance, and cross-border logistics. This contract role focuses on timely movement of goods and adherence to trade regulations.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in international logistics, experience with ACE/AESDirect, ITAR/EAR, USMCA and ERP systems, and strong coordination with freight forwarders and customs officials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in SCM, logistics, international business or related field.
• 3+ years of international logistics, export operations, or global trade compliance experience.
• Knowledge of EAR, ITAR, FTR, USMCA, C-TPAT; ACE/AESDirect usage; ERP and GTM systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute international shipping and export compliance activities.
• File export declarations through ACE/AESDirect and obtain ITNs.
• Conduct Restricted and Denied Party Screening per EAR/ITAR.
• Prepare and maintain shipping docs (Commercial Invoices, Air Waybills, Bills of Lading, COOs).
• Manage cross-border shipments US-Canada-Mexico (USMCA, CARM).
• Ensure compliance with C-TPAT and dangerous goods rules (lithium batteries).
• Investigate and resolve delays, holds, and other logistics issues.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, customs officials, and internal stakeholders.
