Job summary

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company is seeking an entry-level documentation assistant to help customers with export cargo inquiries and documentation needs. You will liaise with internal teams, provide bills of lading details, update documents, and learn how shipments move from origin to destination in a fast-paced environment.

This role emphasizes attention to detail, problem solving, and teamwork. You will communicate clearly with colleagues and customers and help ensure information is complete

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in similar role.
• Prior experience in supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, customer service, etc.
• Strong attention to details.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Organized, efficient, and able to manage time effectively.
• Strong customer service mindset, focused, and responsive.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Great team player.
• Knowledge of MS Excel with the ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Communicates clearly with team members regarding workload, customer particulars, and problems.
• Liaises between data entry teams and customers to ensure missing information is received and customer’s requirements are understood via Standard Operating Procedures.
• Provides shipment details and bills of lading to customers when requested.
• Communicates with overseas agencies to ensure corrections can be applied and cargo is available for release.
• Updates bill of lading according to customer’s requests with little to no errors generated.
• Performs other duties as required.
