Job summary

Ascent Global Logistics seeks an Account Manager to coordinate import/export brokerage and freight forwarding needs, overseeing operational and account tasks through the lifecycle of engagements.

You will analyze shipping options, ensure compliance, maintain client records, and act as the primary contact to exceed customer expectations while supporting internal teams and billing accuracy.

Qualifications

• College degree in a related field required.
• 3–5 years of industry experience preferred.
• Strong time management and efficiency.
• Able to read and interpret financial, legal, and industry documents.
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of U.S. customs and import/export regulations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate shipping options and advise customers on best routing by price, time, and requirements.
• Monitor shipments from loading to delivery and resolve issues with internal teams and partners.
• Serve as primary contact for assigned customers to ensure timely, accurate service.
• Prepare documents for U.S. Customs and other agencies.
• Coordinate rates with the quote department and select optimal carriers.
• Ensure accurate, timely billing and maintain records.
• Help develop company policies on credit, pricing, and service delivery.
• Maintain records for client transactions and stay compliant with import/export laws.
• Travel to client locations with management as needed.
• Contribute to achieving objectives within policy guidelines.
