Job summary

Netflix is seeking a Live Broadcast Operations Engineer to manage day-to-day global live-streaming operations, coordinating with the Live Streaming Pipeline Engineering Team, Live On-Site Technical Managers, Production teams, and Reliability Engineering teams. You will lead initiatives across production, hardware, broadcast engineering, and software development to ensure smooth event launches.

Qualifications

5+ years of broadcast remote operations experience in a coordination or supervisory role.
Strong understanding of digital audio/video fundamentals, compression technologies, distribution formats and related signaling (SCTE-35, ESNI).
Experience with video transport protocols such as SDI, SMPTE-2110, RTP, RTMP, SRT, Zixi, RIST, HLS, MPEG-DASH.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and partner with multiple stakeholders and clients for smooth execution of live-streaming events.
Collaborate with contractors and in-house engineers for transmission planning.
Establish and maintain partnerships with satellite and IP transmission vendors.
Maintain maps and drawings of venue infrastructures for communication with all entities.
Act as central resource for engineering and production, coordinating with teams to execute technical plans.
