EY is seeking an experienced litigator to join the Global General Counsel’s Office in the United States. The role defends EY in malpractice, contract, and securities litigation, manages investigations, and coordinates responses to subpoenas and regulatory inquiries.

The candidate will advise on professional responsibility, develop defense strategies, and manage outside counsel. A JD from a top school and 6+ years of experience are expected, with an active license in the resident office location.

Qualificações

• Significant autonomy in difficult and nuanced litigation decisions.
• Experience as an attorney with significant litigation, including trial.
• Excellent analytical abilities to synthesize facts and law.
• Understand laws and regulations applicable to EY and its industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to interface with all EY levels.
• Proven ability to plan and execute projects with multiple deadlines.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to manage outside counsel.
• Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college; top of class preferred.
• Law degree from a top law school; top of class preferred.
• 6+ years of experience as a practicing attorney.
• Active license to practice law in the resident EY office location.

Responsabilidades

• Handle all aspects of various litigation, enforcement matters and investigations, and internal investigations.
• Advise on cross-border matters with potential financial or reputational impact to EY.
• Consult with partners on potential or threatened litigation to avoid exposure.
• Coordinate responses to regulatory subpoenas and preservation requests.
• Advise on issues of professional responsibility and risk management.
• Formulate defense strategies and consult with stakeholders.
• Work with outside counsel and manage outside counsel spend.
• Conduct interviews of potential expert witnesses and personnel.
• Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations to resolve disputes.
• Prepare key litigation documents, including briefs, pleadings, and discovery requests.
• Prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Develop EY policy positions on legal issues.
