Job summary

Morgan Stanley seeks a senior platform architect to lead the implementation of a platform-as-a-service model in a large, distributed environment for critical business applications. You will drive cloud-native designs, Kubernetes-based infrastructure, and multi-tenant strategies while ensuring strong observability and secure authentication practices.

Qualifications

• Profound understanding of containerization and Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Experience leading and reviewing work of DevOps and Python engineers.
• Deep understanding of Kafka.
• Experience building and deploying distributed and multi-tenant systems.
• Hands-on experience in modern observability stack and modern authentication like OIDC, mTLS.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Application teams and tech leads to understand cases and requirements.
• Work with application development, infra and platform squads to adopt best practices for cloud-native design.
• Review architecture for Apps and platform to identify drift and standards non-compliance.
• Understand trading flows and business workflows to design end-to-end testing needs.
• Integrate Agentic AI and automation tools to streamline onboarding of Apps on platform.
• Partner with Production support to debug and resolve operational issues across observability, Kubernetes on-prem or cloud, Kafka configuration, and DB interactions.
• Drive capacity, scaling and hygiene requirements across all infrastructure components for Apps.
• Closely collaborate with other squads to align with user requirements and delivery timelines.
