Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a senior leader to drive platform-as-a-service across a large, distributed environment supporting critical business applications. You will implement cloud-native designs, manage Kubernetes infrastructure, and refine observability and security across the stack.

The role requires hands-on leadership with DevOps and Python engineers, deep Kafka experience, and a track record of delivering multi-tenant distributed systems in production.

Qualifications

• Profound understanding of containerization and Kubernetes.
• Experience across multiple production teams and squads.
• Leading and reviewing work of DevOps and Python engineers.
• Deep Kafka expertise and streaming knowledge.
• Observability stack and authentication (OIDC, mTLS).
• Distributed multi-tenant systems design and debugging.
• Experience in troubleshooting distributed production systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with application teams and tech leads to understand cases and requirements.
• Design cloud-native applications with platform squads and best practices.
• Review architecture for drift and standards compliance across Apps and platform.
• Understand trading flows to design end-to-end testing needs.
• Integrate Agentic AI and automation to onboard apps on platform.
• Partner with Production Support to resolve operational issues in observability, Kubernetes, Kafka, and DB/cache layers.
• Drive capacity planning, scaling, and hygiene across infrastructure components.
• Collaborate across fleets to balance user requirements and delivery timelines.
