Job summary

Dolby Laboratories in San Francisco seeks a Vice President, Intellectual Property Protection to lead Dolby’s IP protection program, refine policies, and align global teams across legal, engineering, and business functions.

You will oversee a 30-person IP team, manage licensing compliance and audits of 800+ licensees, advise on IP litigation matters, and drive strategic initiatives to maximize the value of Dolby’s intellectual property assets.

Qualifications

• JD from a top U.S. law school with bar eligibility in at least one state.
• 15+ years of legal experience with global IP matters or large IP programs.
• Experience handling pre-litigation, dispute resolution, litigation, licensing, and enforcement.
• Experience managing staff and cross-functional relationships.
• Understanding of software/firmware and semiconductor supply chains is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a ~30-person IP team across licensing, audit/compliance, data management, and engineering.
• Direct Dolby’s IP protection strategy and oversee global license compliance and audits.
• Advise on IP licensing matters and collaborate with business, finance, legal, and compliance teams.
