Job summary

API Headquarters - Washington DC, is seeking a Business Analytics Specialist, IP, to support the IP Department with licensing, royalties, and sales reporting. You will help ensure accurate revenue data and efficient operations across licensing processes.

Responsibilities include processing high-volume transactions, resolving Excel data issues, and developing dashboards and KPIs to guide strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in a similar analytics role.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant area or related field; associates/technical diploma may suffice.
• Degree in business discipline preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate data issues and implement solutions.
• Experience with revenue-generating programs in IP, publishing, or data/ statistics domains.
• Advanced Excel proficiency including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and INDEX/MATCH.

Responsibilities

• Review, validate, and process subscription, licensing, and royalty transactions.
• Investigate data issues in Excel workbooks, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
• Maintain program records for budget analysis and reporting.
• Monitor IP-related activities and registrations with the U.S. Copyright Office.
• Transform raw data into actionable recommendations for decision-making.
• Develop KPIs, dashboards, and performance reports.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives.
• Monitor sales/royalty financials and report progress toward objectives.
