Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a seasoned Technical Program Manager to drive critical infrastructure programs for the Applied Infrastructure team in San Francisco. You will lead cross-functional initiatives spanning compute capacity planning, cost and quota attribution, and tooling standardization to scale our infrastructure for growth and new products.

You will partner with Infra, Product and Finance, manage external vendors, and communicate risks and milestones to technical and executive stakeholders,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience leading large-scale, technical infrastructure programs.
• Experience with compute resource planning, system scalability, or platform engineering.
• Ability to coordinate across Infra, Product, and Finance teams.
• Experience working with hyperscalers or cloud providers to manage delivery cycles.

Responsibilities

• Serve as DRI for complex infrastructure programs spanning CPU planning, orchestration, and resource management.
• Build and operationalize systems to capture demand signals and model capacity needs.
• Forecast infrastructure usage patterns and ensure supply/demand alignment with partners.
• Lead cost attribution and quota enforcement programs to promote stability and equitable access.
• Drive standardization of infrastructure tooling and processes across Applied and Infra.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to evolve infrastructure for growth and scale.
• Collaborate with external cloud providers to manage delivery schedules, capacity projections, and cost growth.
• Communicate project risks, progress, and key decisions to technical and executive stakeholders.
