Job summary

JAS Forwarding USA, Inc. is seeking an Import Specialist to process air and ocean import shipments, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality service for customers. The role focuses on accuracy, timely communication, and adherence to company procedures.

Key duties include document preparation, shipment tracking, invoicing, and cost forecasting, with collaboration across sales and management to support quotations and performance reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience handling imports (air and/or ocean).
• Experience and knowledge regarding imports, compliance, rules and regulations preferred.
• Knowledge of US customs laws, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and process documents ensuring accuracy and proper sequencing.
• Receive and track shipments, update clients on status, dispatch for delivery.
• Bill/Invoice files and manage payment terms with customers.
• Provide accurate job costing forecasts and maintain accruals per guidelines.
• Provide responsive customer service and report changes to management.
• Promote compliance across the department and assist with quotes.
