Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp., Kokomo, IN, seeks an experienced Import and Inventory Planner to optimize international sourcing and inventory levels across multiple factories.

You will review MRP requirements, issue import purchase orders, coordinate with agents and freight forwarders, analyze supplier performance, and produce monthly spend and inventory reports to support planning and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inventory planning, MRP, purchasing, import logistics, supply chain coordination, or a related role.
• Experience working with international suppliers and coordinating ocean freight, customs clearance, and import compliance activities preferred.
• Experience analyzing inventory performance, supplier performance, lead times, and purchasing trends to support decisions.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management software; Microsoft Dynamics or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review MRP requirements and issue import purchase orders; expedite, delay, or cancel purchases as needed to support priorities.
• Manage and maintain import inventory levels considering country of origin, MOQ, lead times, and distribution challenges.
• Negotiate agreements with freight forwarders and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Provide monthly reporting for key imported Production Materials and new items, including tracking, inventory analysis, and status updates.
• Evaluate vendor performance through KPIs, drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Prepare a monthly Import Summary report detailing spend analysis for all imported products.
• Assist in updating the Import Compliancy Manual and determining product classifications and tariff schedules.
• Assist in cross-functional planning and provide updates as requested.
