Leschaco - Lexzau Scharbau GmbH & Co. KG in Jersey City, NJ, is seeking an Import Customer Service Representative – Customs Entry Writer to prepare, review, and submit U.S. import entries, ensuring compliance with CBP and agency requirements.

The role requires 2–4 years in import clearance or freight forwarding, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication. You will coordinate with customers and carriers to ensure accurate documentation and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years in import customs clearance or related logistics
• Working knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and entry procedures
• Strong accuracy and compliance in documentation

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit CBP import entries.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, FWS and other agencies.
• Review invoices and shipping docs for accuracy.
• Manage import documentation for assigned customer accounts.
• File ISF and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, and customs officials to clear cargo.
• Resolve holds, examinations, and documentation discrepancies.
• Prepare delivery orders and coordinate pickup/delivery.
• Provide shipment status updates to stakeholders.
• Research shipment records and verify documents.
• Obtain freight quotes and coordinate ocean/air/truck transport.
• Prepare customer quotations and pricing requests.
• Manage import files from start to billing.
• Maintain high service levels and compliance.
