Job summary

One To World seeks a Director of Development to craft and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy in New York City. You will lead a team and work with the Executive Director and Board to diversify revenue, cultivate donors, and expand impact.

The role focuses on major gifts, grants, events, and donor stewardship, and requires strong communication, relationship-building, and nonprofit leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive nonprofit development experience.
• Demonstrated success in major gifts, annual funding and grant writing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft donor narratives.
• Proficiency in database management with fundraising CRM experience (Raiser’s Edge preferred).
• Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead major gifts, donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship programs.
• Oversee grants management including proposals, reports, and funder communications.
• Plan and manage special events and campaigns (e.g., Fulbright Awards Dinner).
• Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board to support fundraising and governance.
• Maintain gifts in the CRM and ensure timely acknowledgments and reporting.
