Job summary

Sand Technologies seeks a Principal Operations Specialist to design and operate regional hubs powering its global physical AI solutions. You will lead end‑to‑end hub bootstrapping, ongoing operations, and governance across multiple regions, partnering with Legal, IT Operations and Platform teams to standardize practice.

You will spend substantial time with clients, shaping regional operating models, and ensuring security, compliance and performance are embedded from day one.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure, cloud operations or technology operations with leadership across multiple countries or time zones.
• Built an operations capability from zero and stood up an SRE/operations function.
• Operating model fluency with SLAs/SLOs and incident/change management.
• Experience in regulated/sovereign environments with data residency considerations.
• Experience leading matrix organizations across countries and hiring.
• Commercial awareness to size hubs and cost reserved capacity.
• Strong client-facing competence with enterprise IT executives.

Responsibilities

• Own the regional operations capability: hub bootstrap, run, and governance to be Sand-aligned.
• Lead expansion of hubs to the US, UK, East Africa and South Africa.
• Define hub blueprint: roles, access, tooling, runbooks, security and readiness criteria.
• Lead bootstrapping from business case to production with a named owner.
• Run Client Value Ops: tiered support, SLAs, capacity reservation and incident management.
• Operate in a matrix with Legal, IT Operations and Platform teams to standardize globally.
• Hire and develop hub leads and engineers across regions with a consistent bar.
• Turn hub learnings into better global patterns and commitments.
