Job summary

Sonar in Austin, TX, seeks an HR Operations Specialist to keep the employee lifecycle running smoothly, accurately, and in compliance with local requirements. This hands-on role provides the operational foundation for the global HR organization and supports employees around the world.

You will guide onboarding, ensure data quality, assist payroll, respond to complex questions, maintain records, and manage offboarding, visa and relocation, benefits, and EOR relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on HR operations experience.
• Experience across onboarding, benefits, immigration/relocation, compliance.
• Ability to manage end-to-end processes with vendors and stakeholders.
• Comfort with ambiguous non-routine cases (visa, EOR, benefits escalation).
• Experience with external vendors and background checks.
• Strong HR systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding: Guide new hires through onboarding, ensuring timely, compliant data capture.
• Data Quality: Review employee records regularly to fix errors and gaps.
• Payroll Support: Confirm pay, bonuses, deductions with payroll teams before cycles.
• Employee Support: Address complex employee questions and resolve issues.
• Compliance Recordkeeping: Maintain employment documents and policy records.
• Offboarding & Transitions: Manage pay, docs, and access changes at departure.
• Visa & Relocation Support: Coordinate immigration and relocation logistics.
• Benefits Administration Support: Manage enrollment and changes in benefits.
• Employee of Record (EOR) Management: Handle EOR/PEO relationships where needed.
• Background Checks: Coordinate and track pre-employment checks.
• Reporting: Produce workforce metrics reports for decision-making.
