Job summary

SPX Technologies in Cuba, Missouri, is seeking a 2027 summer HR intern to support core HR functions and daily operations. You’ll gain hands‑on experience in employee records, HR systems, recruitment, onboarding, and engagement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in HR, business, or psychology, with coursework in HR management and employment law, a 3.0+ GPA, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems, ATS (applicant tracking systems), or payroll software, helpful
• Participation in student HR associations, SHRM student chapters, or business clubs
• Experience in customer service, office administration, or student leadership roles
• Cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day HR operations including maintaining employee records, updating HR systems, and preparing documentation.
• Assist with recruitment activities such as posting job descriptions, reviewing resumes, and participating in onboarding.
• Contribute to employee engagement and development initiatives, including organizing events, supporting training programs, and gathering feedback.
• Partner with HR team members to ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and confidentiality standards.
• Gain exposure to HR systems (HRIS/payroll), talent development programs, and organizational processes that support business strategy.
