Job summary

Avalara, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director, Value Creation Insights to lead an analytics organization of ~30, across onshore and offshore teams, aligning data-driven initiatives with revenue growth and GTM efficiency.

You will shape forecasting, scoring, and AI-enabled analytics, partnering with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Revenue Operations to drive adoption of analytics across executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or data engineering, with at least 4 years in a people management role.
• Deep expertise in Snowflake, SQL, dbt, and modern data stack tooling; experience with Omni, Power BI, Hex, or similar BI/semantic-layer platforms.
• Hands-on experience with LLM-powered / conversational analytics tools and building AI agents or automated workflows on top of a governed data model.
• Experience building and managing distributed teams that blend onshore and offshore talent across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Own revenue forecasting analytics and governance of forecasting models.
• Lead the design and evolution of the prospect and customer scoring ecosystem and model adoption across GTM.
• Oversee analytics engineering, data ingestion, and data governance for commercial datasets.
• Drive AI-enabled analytics and platform modernization, including transition to Omni Analytics and embedded AI agents.
• Partner with senior leaders across Revenue Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Finance to translate analytics into strategy.
• Lead and develop a globally distributed team of ~30 analysts and analytics engineers.
• Identify high-priority analytical initiatives and drive them to action with cross-functional buy-in.
