Job summary

Fluence is seeking a senior Test Engineering leader to develop and execute comprehensive validation strategies for BESS hardware and software. You will drive automation, manage global initiatives, and collaborate with R&D, product management, and manufacturing.

You will mentor engineers, expand lab capabilities globally, and integrate advanced testing technologies to advance testing methodologies and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.
• Proven leadership experience, including managing cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers.
• Strong program management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
• PMP certification or equivalent project management experience is preferred.
• Experience in energy storage system commissioning and troubleshooting is a plus.
• Commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, quality, accountability, and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing test strategies for BESS hardware, software, component and system-level validation.
• Researching and implementing new trends, tools, and technologies to enhance testing methodologies.
• Driving test automation to streamline validation processes and improve efficiency.
• Managing testing initiatives across the globe to evaluate performance, reliability, safety, and environmental durability.
• Collaborate with technical director on design, development, and upgrading lab infrastructure to meet advanced testing requirements.
• Collaborate with technical director to integrate advanced testing technologies, such as HIL and digital twins, into workflows.
• Expand test engineering team operations to global scale including US, Germany, India, and any other future lab sites.
• Manage a global test engineering team and establish a uniform, sustainable working environment, infrastructure and process.
• Coach, mentor and train team of engineers and technicians in various topics including achieving validation objectives.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration with R&D, product management, and manufacturing teams.
• Establish KPIs for validation programs and ensuring timely reporting of test results and progress.
• Drive continuous improvement by implementing best practices and optimizing testing methodologies.
