Job summary

Fluence seeks a Vice President of Systems Engineering to serve as the executive technical authority for the Product Business Unit. The role owns system architecture, requirements management, interface definition, integration, verification and validation, certification, and product assurance across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of progressive engineering leadership in complex product development
• 10+ years leading global Systems Engineering teams
• Executive-level experience influencing cross-functional organizations and technical strategy

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a long-term Systems Engineering strategy aligned with BU strategy and technology roadmap.
• Establish global Systems Engineering operating model, capability roadmap, standards, and governance.
• Lead investment planning for MBSE, digital engineering, laboratories, HIL infrastructure, and engineering productivity.
• Provide final technical approval for architecture decisions and release readiness.
• Chair architecture reviews and design reviews; resolve cross-functional conflicts.
• Own enterprise system architecture, requirements decomposition, and traceability across the lifecycle.
