Job summary

McCormick & Company is seeking a Senior Director of SOX & Internal Controls at the hybrid HQ in Hunt Valley, MD. The role leads the global internal controls over financial reporting and the company’s SOX strategy, coordinating with Finance, IT, and senior leadership to ensure a scalable control environment.

You will drive alignment, governance, and continuous improvement, partnering with external auditors and the Integration Office to manage risk across functions and regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in internal controls, SOX, or related roles.
• Experience leading SOX programs in a global organization.
• Strong knowledge of COSO, PCAOB, SEC reporting requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead global SOX compliance program including scoping, risk, design and remediation.
• Coordinate SOX across regions; advise on financial reporting processes.
• Mentor and manage internal controls/SOX team; coordinate with external auditors.
• Oversee remediation activities and provide training materials.
• Support SOX readiness during integrations and ERP implementations.
• Partner with leadership to embed controls into future-state processes.
