Job summary

Transamerica is seeking a Director of Internal Controls to lead global SOX compliance, design controls, and oversee risk assessment with senior management. You will coordinate with external auditors, develop action plans, and drive improvements across finance, operations and technology.

The role requires extensive experience in financial services controls, strong leadership, communication and project management skills, and a hybrid work arrangement in key U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 15 years of combined business experience.
• Seven years in managerial/leadership roles.
• Experience with internal controls, audit or risk management in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the evaluation and design of internal controls and SOX compliance.
• Lead risk assessment, scoping and action plans across global operations.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage reporting for the audit committee.
• Develop, implement and sustain the internal control framework and reporting processes.
• Support management and first/second line teams to resolve control deficiencies.
