ADP is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to lead the U.S. Money Movement organization, overseeing a global team of 80+ engineers focused on the development, modernization, resiliency, and production health of high‑volume platforms.

The role blends engineering leadership with platform ownership, risk management, and cross‑functional partnership, requiring strong executive communication and the ability to balance modernization with operational stability and client commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, application development, or enterprise technology.
• 8+ years leading engineering organizations, including managers and senior technical leaders.
• Experience managing a large, globally distributed engineering organization.
• Proven ownership of mission‑critical, high‑availability transaction platforms.
• Experience leading major cloud migrations, platform modernizations, or architectural transformations.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering, systems integration, data platforms, DevOps, and production operations.
• Experience managing significant budgets, vendors, and technology investment portfolios.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through high‑impact incidents and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong executive communication and cross‑functional leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and scale a globally distributed organization of approximately 80+ engineers.
• Own the engineering strategy and technology roadmap for U.S. Money Movement.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability of high-volume financial transaction platforms.
• Continue modernizing the platform following its migration to AWS and upgrade to SAP S/4HANA, B/4HANA, HANA, and modern Linux infrastructure.
• Reduce technical debt, simplify architecture, and modernize integrations.
• Advance automation, observability, DevSecOps, data engineering, and software delivery practices.
• Balance strategic transformation with near‑term product and operational priorities.
