Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Senior Director, Head of Clinical Development Learning & CoE to lead a global, multi-disciplinary team focused on capability development and learning across therapeutic areas.

The role emphasizes strategic governance, innovation in data analytics, and integration with enterprise learning functions, reporting to senior clinical leaders and collaborating with GCTO CoE and GCD standards.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of direct, hands-on experience as a Clinical Scientist in clinical development settings.
Proven experience in learning and development, instructional design, or capability-building functions.
Experience teaching, coaching, and organizational effectiveness in a complex environment.
Experience building organizational capability in a matrixed organization.
Deep technical expertise in medical data review, medical monitoring, and end-to-end drug development processes.

Responsibilities

Direct the multi-disciplinary, global CoE organization and supervise leaders across learning, development, and data innovation pillars.
Set CoE strategy, governance, budget, and allocate resources to enable clinical pipeline objectives.
Create a multi-year capability and innovation roadmap aligned with TA priorities.
Establish KPIs to measure program adoption, impact, and business value.
