Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ seeks a Senior Director, Head of Clinical Development Learning & CoE to define vision and strategy for global capability development, learning, and innovative medical monitoring practices across therapeutic areas.

The role leads a global team and collaborates with oncology and non-oncology clinical science leaders to advance data analytics, digital tools, and practical curricula that support pipeline execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of direct, hands-on experience as Clinical Scientist in clinical development
• Proven experience in learning and development, instructional design, or corporate training
• Experience teaching, coaching, or curriculum development in a complex environment
• Strong coaching, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities

• Lead a global multi-disciplinary organization across learning, development, and data innovation pillars
• Set CoE strategy, governance, budget, and multi-year capability roadmap
• Oversee translation of digital tools and analytics into learning curricula
• Partner with enterprise L&D and standard bodies to align practices
• Drive integration with GCTO CoE and GCD Standards to ensure compliance and best practices
