Job summary

State Street Investment Management (State Street IM) seeks a Global Head of Architecture and Engineering Governance to drive enterprise-wide governance across architecture and engineering functions. You will define guardrails, ensure platform reuse, and enforce regulatory compliance throughout the technology lifecycle, enabling a PPS operating model powered by AI-enabled SDLC governance.

This leadership role reports to the Global Head of Business and Technology Architecture and requires

Qualifications

15+ years in enterprise architecture or governance.
Experience leading architecture and engineering governance across global organizations.
Deep expertise in platform-based architecture and standardization.
Strong understanding of modern SDLC models and governance controls.
Experience embedding risk, security and resilience into decisions.
Experience in matrixed, multi‑function architecture organizations.
Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder influence skills.
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/MS preferred.

Responsibilities

Define and own the enterprise architecture and engineering governance framework.
Establish decision rights, governance forums, and escalation models.
Act as the enterprise authority for architecture and engineering compliance.
Govern platform-based and composable architectures for reuse and scalability.
Lead AI-enabled SDLC governance and controls across delivery pipelines.
Partner with Risk, Security, Compliance and Audit teams.
Provide KPI/KRI metrics and executive reporting on governance health.
