Job summary

Adyen is seeking a strategic leader to head the Governance pillar within the global Scheme Compliance team. You will manage a small, distributed team and own the governance framework, audits, control mapping, and reporting to committees and boards across regions.

The role collaborates with Brand, Financial, and Data Integrity pillars, Internal Audit, and Operational teams to translate findings into accountable actions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a globally distributed governance or risk team.
• Strong stakeholder management with senior leaders in complex environments.
• Experience translating external obligations into governance frameworks and controls.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to present clear decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a global governance team across regions, balancing assurance work with scheme requests.
• Define and maintain standards for governance documentation, control mapping, evidence management, and reporting across pillars.
• Oversee audits, assessments, and due diligence, coordinating scope and responses with stakeholders.
• Lead risk-based testing plans, mapping requirements to internal controls and driving remediation oversight.
• Serve as central interface for scheme Risk and Compliance counterparts across regions.
• Oversee scheme communications, RFIs, and timely, consistent responses to stakeholders.
• Coordinate weekly, quarterly, and annual governance meetings, agendas, and decisions.
