Job summary

Adyen in Chicago, New York, or San Francisco seeks a Payments & Product Partnerships Counsel to lead sophisticated financial services transactions across the Americas. You will partner with product, risk, and compliance to shape deals that scale our payments and financial product stack.

You’ll structure and negotiate core infrastructure agreements, counsel stakeholders on regulatory implications, and help expand into North and Latin America while aligning with product goals.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a practicing lawyer with financial institutions or technology companies on transactions.
• Strong ability to structure, draft and negotiate complex infrastructure partnership agreements.
• Excellent English-language communication and the ability to explain legal concepts to non-lawyers.
• Experience with financial services regulatory models and risk-based deal structuring.
• Strong project management skills and ability to juggle priorities under deadlines.
• Spanish or Portuguese language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with payment and product partnerships teams to build, manage, and grow strategic relationships with networks and financial partners.
• Structure, draft, and negotiate strategic infrastructure partnership agreements to enable Adyen’s products across NA and LATAM.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure deals conform to regulatory positions and product goals.
• Counsel stakeholders on operation and interpretation of partner agreements and related risks/opportunities.
• Scale deal cycles by generating documents, position guides, and implementation briefs.
• Stay current on laws and rules governing bank-partner relationships, privacy, and outsourcing.
• Provide clear, practical guidance to stakeholders in ambiguous or evolving contexts.
