Job summary

International Justice Mission (IJM) seeks a Grants Acquisition Specialist to collaborate with regional offices to identify, vet, and develop grant proposals aligned with IJM’s mission. The role involves pre-positioning, donor engagement, and building regional capacity, reporting to the Director of Grants Portfolio.

The position is based in the Washington, DC area and can be hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays). Candidates must have legal right to work in the US.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in acquiring and/or managing grant funding from governments, corporations, foundations and multilateral agencies.
• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in program design, project management, monitoring and evaluation preferred.
• Experience partnering/subgranting with other INGOs, contractors, or institutional donors preferred.
• Willing to travel internationally and work in cross-cultural settings.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Positioning: map donor landscapes and prepare donor-ready language.
• Proposal Development: guide strategy, write, edit, and submit proposals.
• Capacity Building: create training and materials for regional teams.
• Portfolio Management: track opportunities, update dashboards, and support KPIs.
• General: participate in IJM’s community of spiritual formation.
