Job summary

Siemens Energy Hub in Charlotte, NC seeks a Customer Order Engineer to join a global engineering team designing and manufacturing large electric generators for power generation. You will apply your engineering, systems, and communication skills to support orders from concept to delivery.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, 2–5 years of experience, proficiency with CAD (Siemens NX) and SAP, and strong written and verbal communication. Occasional travel (<10%) and collaboration with international teams are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university required; MSME preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in a related engineering field with strong technical knowledge.
• Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, with experience in rotating electric machines.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of customer requirements for new apparatus and service orders for large electric generators.
• Develop detailed design assessments and release engineering information for manufacture and service repair of generators components.
• Create and upgrade design specifications and initiate revisions to existing products.
• Support manufacturing through technical guidance, troubleshooting, and design improvements.
• Perform calculations, prepare programs, write specifications, and review engineering drawings.
• Provide technical support for negotiations of new and service orders, including travel to customer sites and suppliers.
• Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing personnel.
