Job summary

AXA XL is seeking a Global Underwriting Manager for General Liability to serve as a liability product strategist, shaping global product standards and underwriting excellence across the network. The role emphasizes risk appetite, emerging risks, and strategic insights without direct people management responsibilities.

The position reports to the Global Chief Underwriting Officer (GCUO) - General Liability and requires strong analytical capabilities, cross-functional collaboration, and travel

Qualifications

• Proven US casualty underwriting experience.
• Construction and/or energy sector background preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• CPCU, ACII, or similar professional designation preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; excellent cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work virtually across geographies and cultures.
• ~10% travel anticipated.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review insurance contract wordings in conjunction with Legal and Wordings teams
• Lead underwriting portfolio reviews to identify trends and recommend remediation actions
• Issue Global Product Standards that define product risk appetite and drive technical excellence
• Deploy Global Casualty Product strategy, frameworks, and controls across the network
• Collaborate with Governance, AXA XL Risk Management, and the AXA Group Underwriting Office
• Support Energy Transition initiatives, analytics, and sustainability reporting aligned with AXA's strategic plan
• Provide expert guidance on portfolio management and profitability insights
• Coordinate training materials and support delivery of underwriting strategy
