Job summary

AXA XL in the United States seeks a Global Underwriting Manager for General Liability to act as a liability product strategist, driving underwriting excellence and shaping product standards across the liability portfolio. The role focuses on developing global standards, identifying emerging risks, and providing strategic insights to the GCUO.

You will collaborate with Legal, Risk Management, and the AXA Group Underwriting Office to deploy product strategy, review wordings, and guide portfolio

Qualifications

• US casualty underwriting experience required.
• Construction or energy sector background preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• CPCU, ACII or similar designation preferred.
• Strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work virtually across geographies and cultures.
• Approximately 10% travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review insurance contract wordings in conjunction with Legal and Wordings teams
• Lead underwriting portfolio reviews to identify trends and recommend remediation actions
• Issue Global Product Standards that define product risk appetite and drive technical excellence
• Deploy Global Casualty Product strategy, frameworks, and controls across the network
• Collaborate with Governance, AXA XL Risk Management, and the AXA Group Underwriting Office
• Support Energy Transition initiatives, analytics, and sustainability reporting aligned with AXA's strategic plan
• Provide expert guidance on portfolio management and profitability insights
• Coordinate training materials and support delivery of underwriting strategy
