Job summary

AXA XL’s Global Casualty Underwriting office seeks a Global Underwriting Manager to act as a liability product strategist and drive underwriting excellence across our liability portfolio. This role develops global product standards, identifies emerging risks, and supports the GCUO with strategic insights, without direct people management.

Based in a global, multi-location environment, you will collaborate with governance, risk management, and the AXA Group Underwriting Office, travel ~10%, and

Qualifications

• US casualty underwriting experience is required.
• Construction and/or energy sector background is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; CPCU/ACII or similar designation is a plus.
• Ability to work virtually across geographies and cultures; travel ~10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review insurance contract wordings with Legal and Wordings teams.
• Lead underwriting portfolio reviews to identify trends and remediation actions.
• Issue Global Product Standards that define product risk appetite and drive technical excellence.
• Deploy Global Casualty Product strategy, frameworks, and controls across the network.
• Collaborate with Governance, AXA XL Risk Management, and the AXA Group Underwriting Office.
• Support Energy Transition initiatives, analytics, and sustainability reporting aligned with AXA's strategic plan.
• Provide expert guidance on portfolio management and profitability insights.
• Coordinate training materials and support delivery of underwriting strategy.
