Job summary

Essense of Australia is seeking a Garment Technician for the US Collections team in Lenexa, Kansas. The role focuses on accurate garment fit, construction, fabric, and quality assessments across our collections, coordinating with Design Development, Sampling, and international factories.

The position requires travel up to four times per year and is onsite Monday–Friday. You will develop technical packages, guide factory teams, and ensure samples meet design and company standards throughout the

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Apparel, Fashion, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in technical design or equivalent.
• Strong garment construction knowledge and ability to amend specs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with offshore teams.
• Independent, data-driven decision making and timeline discipline.
• Experience with garment sampling and production workflows.
• Proficiency in Excel and Adobe Illustrator for technical packs.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 4 times per year.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-body garment reviews during the approval process.
• Develop technical packages with specs, fit comments, and grading rules.
• Conduct technical inspections and communicate clear instructions to factories.
• Analyze style instructions to determine technical decisions.
• Provide life-cycle support to ensure garment quality and consumer satisfaction.
• Travel internationally to factory locations for development checks.
• Collaborate with Product Operations and factories to finalize samples.
• Review bulk production for quality before shipment.
• Guide Alterations team in sample research and development.
• Lead showroom mannequin presentations for selling events.
• Support photoshoots and verify sample accuracy ahead of Line Reviews.
• Communicate technical matters with factories and document samples.
• Contribute to process improvements, quality inspections, and reporting.
• Monitor fit, construction, and workmanship across factories.
• Analyze and maintain factory costings.
