Job summary

AIT Worldwide Logistics, Inc. is seeking an Operations Manager I to lead the station's operations strategy for domestic and international freight, recruit and develop staff, and ensure exceptional customer experience.

You will work with carriers and internal teams to optimize service levels, monitor metrics, and negotiate agreements, while mentoring a global team and driving growth. The role demands strong communication, leadership, and P&L oversight to deliver value to clients and sustain

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in logistics or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of international freight forwarding, airfreight and ocean freight.
• 3+ years P&L experience.
• 3+ years of operations supervisory experience and managing a team.
• 3+ years International Freight Forward industry experience.
• Procurement skills; Operational and P&L management of global products and services in a high performance organization.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• Advanced Computer Skills.
• IATA certified, DG certification (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the station’s operations strategy of AIT.
• Ensure processes and metrics are in place to ensure growth, service and profitability goals are accomplished.
• Manage and communicate with AIT’s carriers insuring best value and service vs objectives.
• Exhibits strong negotiating skills and execution in Freight Forwarding Carrier Agreements.
• Ensures providers meet and adhere to the scope of SLA (Service Logistics Agreement) and agreed terms of service.
• Ability to track performance and develop strategic processes and proactively improve efficiencies and reduce lead time lanes.
• Continue to build rapport with clients and work to develop new opportunities and create and manage key visual tools and tracking processes.
• Provides coaching and mentoring employees in a broad global environment.
• Actively support key account operations requirements and insure service execution and reliability.
• Performs other duties as assigned
