Job summary

Nordson Corporation is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to provide financial leadership, planning, and internal controls across the division to maximize long-term profits and shareholder value.

The role leads planning and forecasting, asset management, manufacturing costing, and analysis while partnering with business leaders to set strategic direction and drive profitability, including ensuring SOX compliance and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting.
• MBA/CA/CPA/CMA preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting, including exposure to manufacturing operations.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience with strong communication skills.
• Ability to receive objectives with goals and processes to meet them.
• Solid accounting background with leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to present information to managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing all operational areas affecting the business globally, including Planning and Forecasting, Asset Management, Manufacturing/Costing, and ad hoc analysis.
• Partner with business management to establish strategic direction and financial goals.
• Interpret operating results and recommend cost reductions and profit improvements.
• Direct preparation of statistics for financial statements and charts showing progress.
• Coordinate and drive accuracy and timing of the Operating and Strategic Plan processes.
• Provide financial analysis and support including CAPEX justification, sales trend and market analysis, and product line P&L development.
• Offer guidance on achieving goals with established policies and GAAP adherence.
• Review financial statements and explain variances to management for all entities including foreign subsidiaries.
• Deliver timely analysis of budgets, reports, and trends to assist leadership.
• Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with legal requirements and US GAAP.
• Lead internal controls, SOX compliance, and liaise with auditors.
• Develop and improve accounting policies, processes, and reporting systems.
• Meet corporate reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provide strategic financial input on decision making and identify best practices for continuous improvement.
• Evaluate investment opportunities with prudent assumptions and manage risks.
• Develop key performance metrics and track performance over time.
• Develop people through coaching, training, and career development.
