Job summary

Abbott, a global healthcare leader, seeks a Senior Global Finance Auditor who can work independently, assess risk, and communicate results to corporate and division management. This role may be based at Willis Tower, Chicago, or Abbott Park, IL, with an 18–24 month cross-functional rotation to broaden experience.

You will scope and plan audits, perform risk-based fieldwork, identify control gaps, and deliver actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 3–6 busy seasons in internal/external audit practice; Big 4 preferred.
• Ability to analyze large data sets to assess audit scope and risk.
• Strong GAAP and SOX knowledge; experience with SEC audits and SOX controls.
• Project management experience with ability to organize with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Manufacturing and/or international business experience preferred.
• CPA or other certification (CFE, CIA, CMA) preferred.
• 40–60% travel to Abbott locations (international and domestic).

Responsibilities

• Perform financial audits of Abbott Laboratories’ domestic and international Affiliates.
• Assess accuracy of financial statements, adequacy of internal controls, and identify process improvements.
• Complete audits from planning, fieldwork, to wrap-up.
• Document audit work clearly and timely.
• Provide input on risks and controls while maintaining independence.
• Support onboarding and development of new auditors.
• Achieve individual and department goals.
