Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Finance Director, Internal Audit to plan, direct and manage global internal audits across the company’s sites. You will review internal controls, accounting integrity, and compliance with policies.

You will develop audit plans, mentor a team, and collaborate with executive leadership while driving data analytics to enhance audit effectiveness. This role requires global perspective and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
• 12+ years of related work experience in internal audit or finance, including major public accounting or internal audit roles.
• Experience leading a global internal audit function and coordinating cross-border teams.
• Strong understanding of domestic and international operations and auditing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and manage internal audits globally across manufacturing, commercial, distribution and administration sites.
• Assess the adequacy of internal controls and the integrity of accounting records.
• Develop and execute audit plans approved by the Audit Committee; ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
• Support data analytics initiatives to improve audit efficiency and effectiveness.
• Recruit, train, and develop finance professionals and supervise a team of about 11.
