Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Senior Auditor, Global IT to assess the adequacy of Global Information Technology security and controls for applications and infrastructure across Abbott’s international and domestic organizations.

You will lead and execute IS audits, evaluate security solution designs, and present recommendations to senior management. The role requires strong communication, cross‑functional collaboration, and about half of the time traveling to Abbott locations worldwide.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Business, CS, MIS or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5+ years in information systems auditing or info security assessments at a top-tier firm.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to present to senior management.
• 60% travel required to international and domestic Abbott locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute Information Systems audits across Abbott's international and domestic organizations.
• Assess the design and development of security solutions and adherence to applicable policies and information security requirements.
• Prepare and present audit findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Maintain comprehensive historical audit work‑paper documentation supporting reported audit results.
• Communicate proactively with key stakeholders about audit status, findings, and relevant issues.
• Stay abreast of current and emerging security risks, research new technologies, and reference recognized standards and frameworks.
• Collaborate with the Corporate Audit team to assess organizational IT risks and ensure effective audit coverage.
• Identify control gaps and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risks.

• 60% travel required to international and domestic Abbott locations.
• Must be able to work from Chicago or Lake County locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience auditing major ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Experience auditing IaaS, PaaS, SaaS services and solutions.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001/2, NIST, and other best practice standards and frameworks.
• In‑depth understanding of network and system security technologies across major computing areas.
• Experience with technology risk management/IT audit in enterprise organizations.
• Relevant certifications such as HCISPP, CHPS, CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CIPP.
• Manufacturing and/or international business experience.
• Foreign language skills.

Additional Information

• Base pay range: $78,000.00 – $156,000.00. Pay may vary by location.
• Work shift: Standard.
• Travel: Yes, approximately 50% of the time.
