Job summary

ZEISS in Boise, Idaho seeks an experienced Field Service Engineer for a three-year international assignment in Japan, supporting installation, preventive maintenance and service of semiconductor systems. After completion, transition to a long-term U.S.-based role in Boise and collaborate with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Optics, or Mechatronics; or 5 years of related optics/mechatronics experience.
• Strong customer orientation and flexible to service hours.
• Ability to read and understand electrical or mechanical engineering docs and schematics.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
• English and Japanese language proficiency.
• Proficiency with Windows OS and basic office tools; CRM experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and service ZEISS semiconductor systems at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance and complex repairs; document activities.
• Serve as on-site contact for customers in Japan with cross-border collaboration.
• Coordinate service activities with global ZEISS teams.
• Develop and deliver training to local teams in Japan.
• Assist with spare parts management and reporting.
