Job summary

Expeditors in San Diego is seeking a Logistics Billing Specialist to ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information, delivering exceptional customer service within the Export Department. You will manage A/R performance, invoicing, billing accuracy, and revenue recognition, while coordinating with operations, customers, and accounting to minimize errors and delays.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training.
• Understanding of air documentation process is a plus.
• Effective interpersonal skills and clear concise communication.
• Pro-active, strong organizational skills.
• Good computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• IATA certification (preferred).
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• A/R performance & analysis—execute a strategic approach to credit and collections with targets including 5% or less over 30 days past due and zero bad debt.
• AR disputes older than 7 days to be escalated to management with daily status updates.
• Timely & Accurate Billing—manage invoicing to reduce billing errors and support timely revenue recognition.
• On-going AP management—support timely revenue recognition and timely event updates; manage unbilled A/R.
• Invoice Auditing—audit invoices for accuracy within 15 days past terms.
• Customer service communication—support process documentation, SOPs, and onboarding of customers; respond to emails daily.
• EDE Management—correct EDE billing errors within 5 days or escalate if needed.
• BNP/PNB Management—resolve reserves within 24 hours; zero balance goal.
• CASS AP Management—review and resolve airline payable discrepancies; report weekly.
• Margin Analysis—assist management with margins and daily reports.
• Ocean export booking/documentation—assist with bookings and export documentation as needed.
• Other tasks/duties as assigned by management.
