Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking an Export Controls Advisor based in Austin, TX, to serve as a subject‑matter expert for product classifications, licensing requirements, and export compliance. You will partner with Engineering, Product Management, Legal, and Sales to enable global growth while ensuring regulatory adherence.

You will evaluate classifications, manage license applications, and monitor regulatory developments.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of EAR including classification, licensing, deemed exports, and tech release regulations.
Experience classifying products, software, and technology using ECCNs.
Experience performing restricted party, end-user, end-use, and country risk assessments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret regulatory requirements and develop compliance solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in related field (International Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, Legal Studies, Political Science).
5+ years of experience in Export Controls or Trade Compliance.
Experience with technology, software, cloud computing, semiconductors, or AI-related products and regulations.

Responsibilities

Determine and maintain ECCNs for products, software, technology, and services.
Assess export, reexport, and in-country transfers for licensing requirements.
Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Legal, and business teams on export restrictions and compliance obligations.
Prepare and manage BIS license applications and support audits.
Monitor developments in export control regulations and evaluate potential business impacts.
