Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Abbott Park, IL is seeking a Manager of Executive Compensation to provide subject matter expertise for Abbott’s corporate officers. You will lead development, analysis and execution of executive compensation programs to attract, retain and reward senior leaders.

You’ll prepare materials for the Compensation Committee, perform internal and external data analyses, benchmark against peers and present clear recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or relevant field.
• 5+ years overall work experience in a relevant field including, but not limited to: project/program management, executive compensation or broad-based compensation.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and timelines, anticipate needs and determine next steps.
• Demonstrated excellence in organizational, time management, problem-solving, influencing, communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, analysis and execution of executive compensation programs to support Abbott’s objectives to attract, retain and reward senior leaders.
• Responsible for the development of all materials for the Compensation Committee meetings.
• Perform internal/external data analysis, interpret findings, develop and present proposals/recommendations to senior leadership.
• Conduct ongoing competitive analysis of executive compensation and pay components by benchmarking against industry and proxy peers.
• Serve as the subject matter expert on topics including grantor trust administration, officer appointments/retirements, proxy advisor modeling and officer goal setting/scoring.
• Manage the administration of Abbott’s non-qualified deferred compensation plans.
