Job summary

The Institute of International Education (IIE) is hiring an Events Specialist for the Fulbright Events team in Washington, DC. This full-time, permanent, hybrid role focuses on designing and executing Fulbright seminars and professional development activities for a global audience of students, scholars, and professionals.

You will lead content development, sponsor communication, and on-site implementation, coordinating with sponsors, partners, and VIPs.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related work experience.
• Experience developing adult-education programming on general and specific topics, preferred.
• Experience managing large-scale event planning operations.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Experience managing resources and workflow and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Design, conceptualize and implement Fulbright seminars and professional development activities.
• Serve as primary point of contact for unique Fulbright programs and events, including high-profile meetings and VIP gatherings.
• Oversee sponsor communication, subcontractor monitoring, and on-site event execution.
• Develop content proposals, manage RFP processes, and ensure fiscal closeout and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and improve event-management processes as needed.
